With roots established in 2013 and a growing presence in Australia, our work is shaped by close collaboration, disciplined planning, and a considered understanding of material, climate and light.

Urbanarc design consultancy (Australia) is founded and led by Shehla Latiff, evolving from Urbanarc Architectural Consultancy in Sri Lanka, where the practice was established in 2013.
Over the years, Urbanarc has developed into a robust practice delivering a diverse range of projects across design and planning, interior design, renovations and alterations, commercial spaces, and sustainable design.
Building on this foundation, Urbanarc has extended its presence to Australia as a design consultancy, bringing the same authentic philosophy into a new context. The firm always puts the client’s needs at the centre of their work, creating bespoke, minimally invasive structures in sync with the natural environment.

Architecture and spatial forms have always piqued my interest. As a child, I really enjoyed art and design, which eventually led me to my calling; pursuing my passion for design.
The combination of beauty, functionality and openness inspires me to design spaces, which I have undertaken since graduating from the University of Moratuwa.
With an affinity for understanding spaces and creating open, airy schemes with a minimalistic design ethos, Shehla leads Urbanarc in delivering bespoke, contextually sensitive designs that respond meaningfully to each client and site.
